Ep 82 with Signe Darpinian
1980’s Diet Culture Horror meets Raising Body Positive Teens with Signe Darpinian
What a treat it was to speak with the fabulous Signe Darpinian, co-author of the upcoming book Raising Body Positive Teens alongside Dr Shelley Agarwal and previous podcast guest Wendy Sterling. You might know Signe as host of the Therapy Rocks Podcast but she is a woman of many talents including a newly revealed one - prankster (see what happened to poor Wendy here!).
In this episode, Signe shares how her sequence of co-authored books came to be, the beauty of bringing all your experiences to the table, the diet culture horror film that was the 1980’s and the challenges that comes for 1980’s Gen X parents raising today’s teens, how witnessing diet culture (as well as participating) has impact, the benefits of boundaries and to finish up off, Signe share the collective hope for parents who read the ‘Raising Body Positive Teens’ book.
